One Scary Night

By Mashfique
Zindabazar, Sylhet.

I am a student of Sylhet M.C. College. I am the organizer of any program held in my college. Last year, the students of my college requested me to arrange a picnic party at Cox’s Bazar...
I was agreed and became happy, because I have never been to Cox’s Bazar. So I tried to arrange everything that nobody can be dissatisfied.
It was June 25, 2010, we decided to go. We didn’t want to waist our precious time through bus journey. So we started at night that all the students can sleep quietly. Finally, we reached at Cox’s Bazar at 10.00 am in June 26, 2010. As already we booked seats at a Guest House, we need not to face any problem there for hotel. We boarded there. We got fresh and went for a walk. Specially me, because that was my fist travel to Cox’s Bazar. After lunch, we went to the beach, spent for a while.
However, the sky was dark. It was evening. The sun was getting down. We all were waiting for that moment. Because I heard the evening and the night view of Cox’s Bazar is awesome! I came to the hotel to take some rest. My room was in downstairs. After 15 minutes. I went to the 1st floor at one of my friends’ room. I and my friends were chatting about our journey, fun and more.
Suddenly I found that I left my cell phone in my room, so I told them about it and requested them to come with me at downstairs. We went out from that room and were going to my room. There was a big window in front of the corridor, one of my friends, Abid looked out from it to see the outside, but he couldn't see anything because it was pitch black! Suddenly we heard a sound like calling bell (Ding Dong) outside and everything went quiet, it was so quiet we could hear a pin drop! But the strange thing was that the sounds were coming towards us again and again. We were freaked out because we never had an experience like it before!
After a while, the sounds (Ding Dong) stopped and we thought somebody was doing fun to frighten us. Few minutes later, the sounds started again. But that was different. It seemed to us that somebody was hitting on a wall by a hammer. We couldn’t find out that from where the sounds were coming out. We reached at my room with fear. I tried to unlock the door with the given key, but it was not working. I got scared. Because I heard somebody in my room was hitting the wall by a hammer. I tried several times to open the door but failed. My friends also tried it. We all ran to the manager to inform him. Nobody was there! Then we went to our Lecturer’s room and called him. He came to my room when we told him the whole story. He took the key from me and tried one time. The door opened. I was getting cold. I couldn’t say anything, because I couldn’t believe in my eyes.
However, I entered into my room and saw everything was OK. I checked out the wall but the wall was fresh. There was no spot maiden by hammer. I took my cell phone and went out from that room and stayed at my friend’s room.
The next day, I decided to leave the guest house. Because I didn’t want to face that situation again what happened to us in the last night. I changed the guest house and stayed there for two days peacefully. I can’t forget that moment.
